Located in east Rancho Santa Fe, The Crosby is a community surrounded by an 18-hole golf course, a private club, and dramatic views of the surrounding area. Bing Crosby, the famous American singer and actor, fell in love with the area back in the 1940’s, so the community was named after him. A unique feature of The Crosby is the stone bridge that stands over the San Dieguito River.
The legendary architect, Lillian Rice has been a big influence in the community. Her Spanish Revival design can be seen in many of the homes in The Crosby. Real estate in the area consists of 70 classic homes called The Villages, 281 semi-custom homes, and 70 custom home sites. It’s a very relaxed and elegant setting which is quintessential Rancho Santa Fe living.
The Crosby was chosen as one of the top private golf communities by Golf Digest. In 2006 and 2007, Travel and Leisure Golf Magazine also selected it as one of America’s 100 top golf communities. Residents and guests enjoy some of the best facilities with amenities such as a junior Olympic swimming pool & spa, a tennis garden with a sunken stadium court, a tennis shop, driving range, and fitness center.
Crosby residents attend schools such as Solana Santa Fe Elementary, Earl Warren Middle School, Torrey Pines High School, San Dieguito Academy, or Canyon Crest Academy.
